As we enter the season of extra baking and potlucks and big dinners, give yourself the gift of a peaceful kitchen. Use my kitchen cleaning checklist to give your kitchen a thorough cleaning.

When the kitchen is clean, the house feels clean – at least in my experience. Our family spends most of our time in the kitchen and living room, so having those areas clean and tidy makes a big difference. During the month of December, it feels especially important. There are few things more frustrating than heading into the kitchen to cook or bake, and having no counter space and a messy stovetop.
Take the time now to get your kitchen cut-out-cookie ready!
Reality Check
It is one of the busiest times of year for many of us. This checklist is not intended to be the deepest of cleans. No toothpicks in the crevices of your cabinets, no wiping down pantry shelves. I have attempted to make it thorough, but not exhaustive.
If you don’t have time to do the entire checklist, choose what is most important to you, or the area that needs the most attention.
Tackle the refrigerator!
The largest section on this kitchen cleaning checklist is the refrigerator. This checklist was specifically crafted for the holiday season, when large meals are the norm, special treats are a constant, and there seems to never be enough room in the fridge. It truly will be the most helpful thing to give yourself a clean, and cleaned-out, refrigerator.
The refrigerator is also the largest appliance in the kitchen. It takes up a lot of space, so cleaning the outside makes a big impact.

Do what you can, and don’t sweat the rest! This is a tool. I have left three blank spots at the end of the list, so that you can add those things specific to your kitchen or family.
Tweak it, make it your own, and enjoy filling in circles as you complete each task.
Here’s to clean counters and a kitchen smelling of cinnamon!
